About this piece

Among tape enthusiasts and high-end audio collectors, the Nakamichi CR-7 is affectionately known as the "Baby Dragon." It earned this title because it packs the same jaw-dropping sonic performance as Nakamichi's flagship Dragon model, but houses it in a more reliable, refined, and user-friendly design. It is widely celebrated as one of the best cassette decks ever engineered.

It is celebrated for its discrete 3-head configuration, asymmetrical dual-capstan direct-drive transport, and real-time auto-calibration system that optimises bias, level, and azimuth perfectly for any tape formulation. It also features a highly prized manual playback azimuth control right on the front panel, letting you dial in maximum high-frequency clarity on tapes recorded on other machines.
Functionality & Testing:
The unit has been thoroughly tested and appears to be in perfect working order. It powers on, plays, rewinds, fast-forwards, and sounds spectacular. The transport is strong, the heads are pristine, and the automated calibration system works as it should. The Master Fader indicators and circuits respond perfectly when entering Record Mode to handle professional fade-ins and fade-outs, and default correctly to full "Up" during regular playback.
Please note: Collection from our Murarrie showroom or freight at buyer's expense. We do not offer free shipping on traded equipment. Please contact prior to purchase to organise.
