About this piece

We have just traded in this pair of Lintons as yet another customer has upgraded to the Super Linton, This pair are in excellent condition and are less than 12 mths old. We sold these speakers originally so we know their history.

The Wharfedale Linton (Heritage 85th Anniversary / Linton Heritage) is a classic-style 3-way standmount speaker that blends vintage design with modern hi-fi engineering, and it’s one of Wharfedale’s most iconic current models.

It’s built as a true large bookshelf speaker (almost floorstander-sized in practice), designed to deliver a big, relaxed, and full-bodied sound rather than a sharp or analytical presentation.

At its core, the Linton uses a 3-way driver layout:

  • A 200mm (8") Kevlar woofer for deep, weighty bass
  • A 135mm Kevlar midrange driver in its own chamber for clear vocals and natural instruments
  • A 25mm soft-dome tweeter for smooth, non-fatiguing highs

This separation of drivers gives the Linton its signature strength: a very natural and open midrange, where vocals and acoustic instruments sound full and lifelike rather than pushed forward or thin.

The tuning is often described as warm-neutral with a slight vintage character. Instead of chasing extreme detail or brightness, it focuses on musical flow, cohesion, and long listening comfort. The bass is especially notable—deep, punchy, and room-filling, with enough scale to make small setups feel much larger.

Please note: Collection from our Murarrie showroom or freight at buyer's expense. We do not offer free shipping on traded equipment.

These speakers will come with a 12 month warranty.
