The TOPPING A90 Discrete is an ultra-high-performance, fully balanced desktop headphone amplifier and pre-amplifier. It is widely celebrated in the audiophile community for its immense power and dead-silent noise floor.

  • Massive Output Power: It delivers an astonishing 9,800mW per channel at 16 Ω and 1,000mW at 300 Ω via its balanced outputs. It can easily drive the most demanding planar magnetic headphones on the market.
  • Ultra-Low Noise Floor: Features a residual noise level of just 0.2uVrms. This ensures a pitch-black background without any audible hiss, even when using hyper-sensitive In-Ear Monitors (IEMs).
  • Fully Discrete Architecture: Re-engineered with four discrete Nested Feedback Composite Amplifier (NFCA) modules. Each module uses 39 transistors to create a fully balanced, ultra-linear signal path.
  • Premium Design & Features
    • R2R Resistor Ladder Volume Control: Replaces standard volume potentiometers with a relay-controlled resistor network. This provides flawless channel balance even at whisper-quiet listening levels.
    • Versatile Connectivity: The front panel houses a 4-pin XLR balanced, 4.4mm balanced, and a 6.35mm single-ended headphone output. The back panel provides standard XLR and RCA inputs and pre-amp outputs.
    • GND/LIFT Ground Loop Switch: Includes a physical toggle switch to instantly cut out annoying hums or background buzzes caused by ground loops in complex desktop stacks.
    • Pre-Amplifier Functionality: Can act as a high-end pre-amp for powered studio monitors or power amplifiers, allowing you to run headphone out, pre-out, or both simultaneously
